Before you start
Before you start setting up your X-Cart store, it’s important to find a reliable hosting for your store that whould meet the sofware system requirements and set-up a memorable and easy to type store domain so that your customers can find your store online.
X-Cart installation is an easygoing and straightforward process that won’t take much time. Just follow the steps from the installation guide and you’ll get a store ready for set-up and launch in minutes:
Before you stock your X-Cart store with products, you need to enter some business information about yourself and your store. You need to decide on some basic standards for your product listings and storefront options representation.
- Name your store, define the store address and contact info
- Localize your store: set the default store currency and weight units
- Staff your store if necessary
- Configure the store general settings
Basic Store Set-Up
The most important parts of your online store are the way your store looks and the kinds of products that you’re going to sell. Try a few different themes to see which one looks best. If none of the default themes suits you, check for extra templates in the Marketplace.
Add some products to sell. Depending on how many products you plan to offer, adding and organizing your product listings can be the most time-consuming step of setting up an X-Cart store. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to add your products, to organize them, to configure payments and to set the necessary tax and shipping options.

After you launch your online store, you need to promote it. You can improve your store’s visibility by thoughtfully defining your home page metadata and by promoting your store in all of the appropriate spaces.
